Tell us a little about yourself and your business: I only just decided to start selling my artwork within the past year. It's taken a lot for me to work up the courage. It's been a wonderful learning experience and I've definitely grown a lot. My artwork has also been evolving and growing. Whimsical colorful and slightly odd would be the words that would best describe my style and artwork. I don't like to take things too seriously when it comes to what I make. I tend to just take things a day at a time and enjoy every step of the creative process.
What made you get started in your business?: After playing around creating different things, I figured, rather than let what I make sit around the apartment (because lord knows I don't have the wall space to display it all), I thought maybe someone else might be interested in the things I make. I also knew it would be good for me. The exposure would give me an opportunity to grow and develop thicker skin when it came to criticism. I've always been a very sensitive person.
Anything else you’d like to share: Being able to be creative and show my work makes me very happy. I feel very blessed to be able to express myself creatively.
I belong to a few different groups....
Unique Women In Business: http://www.uniquewomeninbusiness.blogspot.com, which is run by our wonderful team leader Erin. This group is just filled with so many talented and very supportive women. It's such a joy to be included in their group.
Etsy Twitter Team: http://etsytwitter.blogspot.com/ This is another wonderfully supportive group of etsians, who use twitter as a means of promotion.
Etsybloggers Street Team: http://etsybloggers.blogspot.com/ This was the first team I joined and it's been such a pleasure to be a part of it. There's a lot of team participation, which I think is a great thing! In order to reap the benefits of being part of a team, you need to participate and put work into it as well.
Tell us about your favorite item currently listed in your shop:
My favorite items right now are my Button Seedling and My Snowflake Hatchling.
My Button Seedling was a happy accident. And my Snowflake Hatchling, well all of my hatchlings are special to me. And this is the last one I made. I'm not sure if I'll be making any more.
Check out Curious Mess here:
My Favorite from Curious Mess: I love the bright colors of Curious Mess's Colorful Paper Cut Flowers. I am ready for spring, and these happy little flowers make me feel a little warmer and cheerier just looking at them. I can see hanging this near my desk, or my bed, or near the coffeepot or.... Well, I'd probably just have to carry them around with me. :)
