Tell us a little about yourself and your business:
I sew! I sew all the time! In every spare second I have that isn't accounted for playing with my toddler son or working my day job! I am always trying out new ideas, so I have made everything from handbags, to wristlets, to lanyards, to ipod cases, to my current favorite: ID Card holders.
What made you start ThreadsofGray?:
My mother's life was taken by Brain Cancer a few years ago and in researching the disease, I realized that there weren't a lot of awareness products out there, or a lot of information in general. I looked around and saw a world covered in pink awareness ribbons and pink packaging for everything to raise awareness of Breast Cancer, and was really disappointed that there wasn't more "out there" about Brain Cancer. Its not staring you in the face in the grocery store, at the cosmetic counter and ever ad on TV. Yet Breast Cancer has a 95% survival rate now. I thought "What if Gray became the next Pink and then everyone would be talking about Brain Cancer and maybe the statistics would improve there" My Gray Brain Cancer Awareness Ribbon Totes were born.
All the profits from any purchase of an awareness item in my shop are donated to the American Brain Tumor Association in memory of my Mother. They fund research grants to learn more about the causes of Brain Cancer, find better treatments and to find a cure.

My favorite item will always be my Gray Ribbon Awareness Totes. Although recently I've splurged on a die cut machine, and now I can cut out tiny ribbons too. I can't wait to add those to new projects and have an entire collection of Awareness Items to chose from!
My favorite from ThreadsofGray:
I love Barbara’s Paris Bebe Scrappy Reusable Coffee Sleeve. The fabric is so cute, and I think it’s awesome that it’s made from scraps that might otherwise have been tossed.
